Luna Star Café: A Taste of “La Vie Bohéme”

By March 20, 2017places to go

The lost generation had Paris café’s. Places for artists of all walks to meet and exchange ideas. Vibe out.

Some of the best works of art were created during this time of great artistic collaboration in the expatriate bohéme scene of 1920’s France.

That’s because artists thrive in an environment that nurtures their creativity. A warm place where open, even transgressive expression, is welcomed.

That’s what Luna Star Café represents for many south Florida artists—a casual yet eclectic place to share their art with kindred spirits.

You’ll frequently run into FIU’s Masters of Fine Arts students here presenting their writing as part of the program’s reading series, Honest Liar’s Club.

And for those of us with little or no artistic talent, Luna Star can be a local go-to spot for free performances by all kinds of artists (poets, musicians, writers) any day of the week.

A bohemian oasis for the soul.
