A burst of color, prose, and story ignites in your palate. Palate Magazine is an arts journal established in Fall 2015 that features visual and literary art of the FIU student body. Our mission is to provoke student thought and highlight interdisciplinary approaches. We want to create exposure for FIU creatives to showcase their work and provide community events in the arts.

Art & Graphics

Drawings, paintings, sculptures, architecture, conceptual art, cartoons, calligraphy, computer graphics, fashion, and other designs. Please include a small caption or description of the art with your submission.

Creative Writing

Excerpts of novels, fiction, nonfiction, biographies, comic strips & graphic novels, short stories, screenwriting, playwriting, and poems of any genre. Please keep to a 650 word limit

Academics

Critiques, reviews, opinion papers. These will either be published in the physical magazine or the eMag, depending of the timelessness of the topic. Once again please keep it to a 650 words maximum.

Photography

Fine Art photography will be our biggest focus. The photography will be judged not on its photographic merits and quality as well as its creativity.

Video & Film

Short documentaries or films, or if your art is in the medium of a video, these are the things we are looking for.

Music & Theatre

Any type of music video, covers, drama, comedy, etc. These will only be published in the eMag for obvious purposes.

By submitting and having your work approved by the editorial staff you will be considered a published author/artist through the Honors College.

Get those much needed Honors Points if you are in the Honors College and become exposed to community events in the arts where you can network with other like-minded people.
